We would like to inform you that the announced strike by the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) went into effect on October 1st. This strike is expected to significantly impact all ports along the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts. Shipping companies and other parties have announced additional costs associated with the disruption caused by the strike due to this situation. We would therefore like to point out that for export shipments from Germany to the East and Gulf Coasts of the USA, all costs associated with the strike will be charged on a collect basis at destination.
