Dear shippers, the increasing number of incidents in container shipping involving batteries has led to extended regulations on the part of the shipping companies. This involves identification, registration, documentation and extended separation requirements, which apply not only to batteries covered by the IMDG Code, but also to harmless batteries such as alkaline, nickel-cadmium (NiCd), nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) and flat batteries, button cells, lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries under special regulations. In future, harmless batteries must be explicitly marked in our booking process. The following surcharge will be introduced for nonhazardous batteries from 01.01.2025: Handling fee nonhazardous batteries: EUR 75.00 per shipment.
